Rumors su Windows Phone 8
Windows Phone 7.5 ha indubbiamente segnato un grande passo avanti nello sviluppo e crescita del sistema operativo mobile di Microsoft, rendendolo un sistema apprezzato da molti (o almeno più apprezzato rispetto a prima).
Soprattutto si aprono nuove possibilità nella crescita di questo sistema operativo, soprattutto nel medio-lungo termine. Per queesto motivo, Microsoft è già al lavoro per il nuovo major update di WP7: Windows Phone 8 (nome in codice WP Apollo).
A quanto pare, nei giorni scorsi, infatti Microsoft ha pubblicato un annuncio di lavoro, dove si ricercano esperti del settore, con ottime competenze informatiche, sulla piattaforma Microsoft, e sul linguaggio C/C++. Le persone scelte lavoreranno quindi all’implementazione e al miglioramento di Windows Phone, e come si evince dall’annuncio, Apollo estenderà la compatibilità con altre architetture hardware (probabilmente Intel, ST-Ericsson) e con schermi a maggiore risoluzione. Altro biettivo di Microsoft è migliorare la sicurezza di Windows Phone 8.
Windows Phone 8 però sarà un sistema operativo a sé stante e non vi sarà la convergenza, almeno non nel codice, con Windows 8 (Rumour: Windows Phone 8 will not be based on Windows 8 as Nokia wants to sell cheap Windows Phones). Sarà un sistema parallelo ma integrabile a Windows 8 Desktop, Windows 8 per tablet, Xbox, e tutti i servizi Live annessi, in modo tale che tramite un solo account ci sia cooperazione e comunicazione tra più dispositivi e piattaforme. Mentre Windows 8 Desktop è atteso per il terzo trimestre del 2012, la versione per tablet potrebbe debuttare già a partire dalla fine del primo trimestre del 2012: per tale periodo potrebbe essere disponibile anche Windows Phone 8.
